Set at the headwaters of the Columbia River, Fairmont Hot Springs is a year-round destination offering something for everyone. As the name suggests, the main attraction at Fairmont is the hot springs, which are located in a pool complex that consists of several naturally-warm pools. In addition to soaking in the hot springs, visitors can also enjoy a variety of activities. Rafting, kayaking or canoeing on the Columbia River is an exhilarating way to spend a summer day, while landlubbers can enjoy 18 holes at the scenic Mountainside Golf Course, set against the backdrop of the Columbia Valley. In winter, the Fairmont Ski Resort opens, and it rarely has the long lines or crowds associated with the more well-known resorts. Snowmobiling and heli-skiing opportunities are also available for those who wish to travel off the beaten track. Fairmont's location, just a three-hour drive west of Calgary, makes it a convenient destination for travellers from around the world.
